When should I book my Wedding or Specialty Cake?
You should book your wedding cake three to six months in advance. Other specialty cakes should be booked no later than 4 weeks prior to event. Contact us (by clicking the "Contact Us" option to the left) to book a consultation so you can taste samples and plan your cake. Remember to advise of any special dietary requirements.
What details should I supply my Cake Decorator?
Where will the wedding be held? If the wedding is being held at a reception or restaurant will the cost of the cake be included in the food bill? Are we able to bring a cake in from outside? Can the cost of the cake be deducted from the food bill? You don’t want to pay for the cake twice.
When is the Wedding?
Will there be a seasonal theme. For example, autumnal colours, winter colours. When will the cake be served? If after an extravagant meal, then the slices can be smaller. If cake and champagne are the featured items at a short mid-afternoon reception, then the cake servings will be larger which means you'll need a larger cake or more tiers.
How many guests are coming?
Include bride and groom, musicians, photographers, clergy, etc. Children under 10 should be counted as half an adult.
How formal is the Wedding?
This is to set the tone of the cake. Cakes with large separations such as pillars are more formal. Stacked cakes of short stature with fresh pansies might not be dramatic enough for a black-tie wedding. Consider the formality of your dress, the room, the food, and the flow of the party in general for the design of the cake.
What is the style or mood of the Wedding?
This is to get you thinking about design preferences. A tailored streamlined look or feminine ruffles with bows? What about colour? A simple white cake with a few roses? Or something untraditional? If chocolate cake is preferred , why not consider chocolate frosting on the outside? This look would be considered outside the norm but is doable.
What is a Groom's Cake?
It is a specialty cake that is usually a sculpture in the shape of a hobby of the groom. For example a golf ball, bass guitar, glass of beer, etc.

When is the cake delivered?
The cake is delivered approximately one (1) hour before the reception.
Can I have fresh flowers on my cake?
Yes, you can contact your florist and they will provide the flowers and place them on your cake.
How much will my Wedding or Specialty Cake cost?
Prices depend on the number of people you expect, the complexity of the cake design you select and any non-standard charges for cake decorations. Cakes are priced per person and vary depending on the decoration. Price will be determined within 48 hours of the tasting - based on your needs.
Will we have our first tier for our first year Anniversary?
Yes, but it won't be the one from your original wedding cake. You will be given a complimentary certificate for a 6" cake to be collected for your one year Anniversary. However, it is your responsibility to contact us a week prior to your Anniversary and order the cake. We cannot be held responsible if you forget to place the order.
